In the last session Alesander returned to St. Bishop’s after having been cleared of charges that he was an Apostate to the League. He met with Father Julio Ortega about a job with a Republican Colonel. Unfortunately, Alesander is still distrusted by the guilds, and must recruit new apprentices if he’s to complete the mission.
Father Julio took him first to the slave markets on Lookout Island where they liberated a slave named as Rolf of the Silver Wolf tribe. In exchange for freeing him Rolf agreed to guide Alesander and his burgeoning guild through the Tribal Lands to the north of St. Bishop’s. Next, Alesander tapped an old friend, Placid, for his assistance. While Placid is not much for the wilderness, his need for money and his skills with a cleaver made him better than nothing.
After finding his crew, they were taken to Colonel Lucius’s villa in St. Bishops. There they witnessed him torturing one of his men for information. The soldier told them that his daughter, Miranda, had been taken near Lorado Point by the Red Snake tribe while traveling to Bei Chueng. When pressed about why his daughter was traveling north, he avoided the question, stating that she was to be married to an ambassador’s son in Bei Chueng.
Alesander and his crew set out from St. Bishop’s and on the edge of Episcopate land, they found themselves surrounded by beastmen. Placid attempted to confront a Silverback. Rather than meeting an untimely end, Rolf was able to use his knowledge of beastman culture and language to defuse the situation and save Placid’s life.
After escaping the beastmen, the guild found itself at a small village where Thomas, the local sheriff, demanded they surrender their weapons if they wanted to stay in town. They accepted this condition and found a place in the village square to set up camp. As they explored this small village, they heard stories from the locals that wraiths have been seen in the woods, and local livestock have been found mutilated and partially eaten.
As the night went on, the guild wisely elected to keep watch with the local guard, and the village was attacked by strange, albino monsters that were slightly larger than a child. A number of the townspeople were killed in the attack, but the guild managed to fend off the attack with the help of Sheriff Thomas and the town guard.
The next morning they set out for Lorado Point, where they found the remnants of the caravan in which Miranda was traveling. They were able to easily track the Red Snakes to their camp. Under stealth of night they rescued Miranda, but alerted the camp at the same time.
